Program Overview:
The Respectful Workplace is designed to educate participants about their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. The program identifies attitudes and behaviours which contribute to a respectful workplace as well as those that are inappropriate.  Specific types of offensive behaviours, including discrimination, harassment and personal harassment (bullying) are defined and examined.  Emphasis is on developing appropriate workplace behaviours and knowing how to respond to incidents involving inappropriate behaviours.

Who Should Take the Course:
This course is designed for all employees at all levels. A respectful workplace is one that supports the physical, emotional and social well-being of each employee.

Course Objectives:
The program includes scenario-based, interactive activities, which provide participants with practical situations in which they must select appropriate behaviours and appropriate responses to the behaviours of others. Some of the issues that will be covered include recognizing the negative impact of non-respectful behaviours on individual employees and on an organization, understanding both the informal and formal complaint processes, and being able to define discrimination and harassment.

Evaluation Process:
At the end of the course, there is a test that each course participant must successfully complete to receive their certificate.  

Course Duration:
The course is self paced so course duration will depend on the individual participant and their prior knowledge base with the course subject matter. On average will take 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete.  

Upon successfully completing all units, there is a printable certificate for your records.
